You better win that division. Id prefer to get him in the play-in round. The playoffs coincide with his airplane league recruiting.
Haha.  I'd like to and I should...  but he keeps winning somehow.

Does anyone ever do anything involving playoff  rosters, generally? I tend to ditch an extraneous pitcher for a niche position player. Someone who can either pinch hit or pinch run and might somehow provide the difference in a close game.
I tend to drop my worse two pitchers for two guys who can either pinch run, pinch hit or play defense.  Hopefully nailing all three between the two guys.  If I have enough IP in the pitchers and play in the right park, I will go with only 9 pitchers in the playoffs.
But don't you normally have a 13 man pitching staff, or is mostly just your WISBFF?

I think I nailed the defense, speed, and power with poor splits with Onan Chang. I would have placed Young in there ahead of someone else, but I'll survive with what I have.
Always 12 or 11, mostly depending on staff makeup, league and park.

Reason I ask is I'm considering promoting this guy from AAA just for the ALDS, though he'd probably get more at-bats if I let him keep playing in the AAA WS:

Would you make this move?

If I thought I had a chance to win the WS, yes.
I think you of all people might now say anyone in the playoffs at the end has a shot... And if I could take out BP, I like my chances a lot more. Though I honestly never expected this team to do as well as it has...

I chalk a lot of it up to the deeper bench with more startable players. I guess guys were rested, but I kept the aggressive pinch hitting going most of this season and I think they thrived in those situations. But I might just be talking myself into this team.
True...  if nlmiller can win the WS in HR, anything can happen.

I can't see using more than 12. I'd only drop to 11 if I trusted the stamina and health of the rotation. I like keeping an extraneous spot starter ready.

Yeah, I found it pretty disappointing. I knew I had a better team, but it's not like they played that well in the NLDS round. If they actually showed up, maybe I could have actually given St. Louis a run.

Sometimes I find the very bottom line of posts is cut off by the display of the post just below it. Not sure why.

How is TM a R and we're both P's? I never figured out this stupid rating system.

If only I could think of an "R looks like a P with a wiener out" joke that would be applicable...

6/29/2010 12:37 PM
when has being applicable stopped you?
6/29/2010 12:52 PM
Who knows what the mix is of thumbs/favorites/posts/blocks that make up the goofy rating.

After all these years, my semiconscious hatred of the question mark still shines through.
