The Wire is definitely one of HBOs best series imo. Right up there with Rome and Deadwood.
This is ******* stupid.  Both of those shows were good but not on the same planet as The Wire.

Word.

Deadwood was great but Calamity Jane was like a herpe that stayed year round, and there was a lot of bizarre randomness like Dority going all emo, Tolliver just doing whatever the ****, stories about Martha and the school, etc.  The more it went on, the more filler there was.  A 4th season probably would have had Brian Cox's childhood friend bringing a circus to town, and an episode about how there's nothing in the black hills for elephants to eat.

Rome had too many dumb *******.  Women weren't that important back in the day, Bruno Heller was clearly using the series to try and **** a feminist.  Pluswise, HBO really fucked them by cancelling a three season arc halfway through production of the second season which resulted in a seriously rushed storyline.

Even when the Wire started to get overly preachy, it still had direction and everything tied together without making me think that it was just a paycheck for the people involved.  I doubt another show will ever touch it.

LD is killing it in Curb this season.  The past two episodes have been some of the best ever.  I'm sure Cheryl will appear again but getting her out of the main storylines is a huge improvement.  More time for the Big Funk.

The definitive retort.

Nah. I mean, I agree with most of it, but I was right too. But insofar as you're really just beating up on moy and sucking each other's intercocks, it's none of my affair.

That said, S4 of Deadwood would have likely been awesome.  The downfall of Swearengen as facilitated by Langrishe, would have pretty much been guaranteed epicness.

No **** sucking here...  Wire sucking...  and The Wire deserves a blow job.

I also didn't know about the Rome/Cancellation/2-3 seasons thing...  that makes a lot of sense.

I like the way he threw in the Theodor Herzl reference during sex.

Omar is playing the ex-con teacher of the class they're all taking together.

John Goodman also has a multi-episode run as the dean of the air conditioning repair college at Greendale. Supposedly playing a foil.

Yeah, the last two episodes have been really good. The safe-house episode was great because it had a lot of storylines going simultaneously that all worked in unison together. And this week's with the Palestinian chicken and the social assassin gimmick was great. I can tell it's a good episode when I can't decide which line to post in Shtickless.

Also, they're trying really hard to get Bill Murray to play the town mayor on Parks and Rec. My head would explode.
