woah betsy

hold up

what's a puberty blocker
A commonly-used prescription medication that essentially blocks the internal effects of puberty from happening in teens.

It's safe, reversible if one chooses, and the most common treatment recognized as helpful for trans youth.

Conservatives hate puberty blockers because it's the very obvious solution to the problems they ***** about.

Lia Thomas, a trans female swimmer is literally shattering women's swimming records. I can't get how so many don't see how f'd up that is.
No regard for the actual women that trained their ***** for years, only to lose to a biological male. It's absurdity in the guise of progress.

OK, a couple of things. First of all, conservatives NEVER cared about women's sports until they could demonize trans people. Women's sports was a ******* joke in conservative communities, and to some extent still is. So miss me with this fake *** concern-trolling. Second, conservatives fight so hard against the solution to this problem - puberty blockers. If trans or trans-questioning teens were able to get puberty blockers, they would never gain the biological edge that is given to the male body during puberty. If Lia Thomas had been given puberty blockers as a teenager, she would effectively have the same performance as any other woman. But conservatives fight super hard against this. Finally, we have no idea how much being trans has helped Lia. Statistically, trans women and cis women could be the exact same in terms of athletic ability and we would still see some trans women succeeding. I think some people underestimate how draining the hormone changes are for trans women. It's not like Lia is just a normal guy who hops in the pool with women.

The woke crowd are all too eager to discredit all the great things accomplished by our founding fathers to focus on "they owned slaves".
They owned slaves in a time where slavery was common throughout the entire world.
These same folks still celebrate MLK even though he also made some morally repugnant decisions. He was a Reverand but also a notorious womanizer who once, according to FBI tapes watched a rape.

You're wrong on what the "woke crowd" believes. Moroeover, this is a horrible comparison. OWNING SLAVES is not the same as being a mysogynist,. And the founding fathers knew how bad slavery was and did it anyway. You can recognize this while still acknowledging the good they did. Conservatives don't want to acknowledge what really happened. Go read the "1776" report if you don't believe me.

I still don't care about women's sports.
I care that actual women are being treated unfairly.
Call the teams X and Y. Don't worry about what someone thinks or wishes they were.
Y chromosome in this pool only.

yeah, probably no bearing one his shattering of records. Please.

You can recognize anything you choose. But when you tear down statues of founding fathers you are reducing them to their shortcomings.

Are you saying MLK, the Reverend, didn't realize adultery was a bad thing?

I won't argue with you over which is the "worse" sin. They both violated their own conscience.
Why not prescribe puberty blockers to trans-questioning kids so they never receive a competitive advantage by going through male puberty? Problem solved.

It's quite literally the main treatment recommended by the doctor in the field but conservatives are trying to ban it.

I cant go near “woke”. Slogans like that make me nauseous.

In the case of trans athletes it is unfair for male to female trans to compete with females because of the inherited biological advantages and muscle mass and bone structure etc.

But females transed to males should be able to compete with other males.

Sexual orientation and gender reassignment is not and cannot be a reason. It isn't the issue.

This is a matter of complexity that does not get happy smiley face results. It is unfortunate but certain facts cant be dismissed and society should be mature enough to recognize that sometimes you cant have a one size fits all solution.
Your last paragraph is dead on.

When they force high school girls to share their locker room with a biological male to appease his feelings, they are blatantly disregarding the feelings of the hundreds of girls who are very uncomfortable.

His feelings are more important the hundred girls?
bruceleefan wants YOUR daughter to share a bathroom with these men:

ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL.

But for real, I care more about presentation than genitalia. Who is looking at penises and vaginas in locker rooms anyway?

AND you completely dismiss the idea that a woman might be super uncomfortable sharing a locker room with men... a trans woman. You don't think they are suddenly in danger of being assaulted?
1/26/2022 2:28 PM
There is zero evidence of any harm done by allowing trans people to use the restroom and locker room of their choosing and a lot of evidence that not doing so actually does lead to harm. It's not difficult.

There's so little evidence that conservatives are resorting to MAKING UP STORIES of cases of trans women abusing/raping women in locker rooms. There's a pretty big case being passed around in Virginia of a supposed rape that occurred in a bathroom because a school allowed trans women to enter women's bathrooms. Here's the problem: the incident happened BEFORE the school changed their policy, the two people were dating and agreed to meet in the bathroom (where an assault occurred), and the rapist isn't even trans - he was just wearing a skirt.

If you have to make up examples of harm being done, it's probably not a big deal.
1/26/2022 2:31 PM
I don't know who looks at penises and vaginas. All I know is I don't want my daughter to have to worry about it.
1/26/2022 2:32 PM
I just don't want men in women's locker rooms and vice versa

I again ask the question.
Why do the feelings of the trans matter more than the feelings of the other girls in the locker room?
1/26/2022 2:59 PM (edited)
I'm arguing that making men use women's locker rooms and vice versa violates the feelings of everyone and harms everyone.

I don't want men like that sharing a changing room with women and I don't want trans women sharing a space with men.
1/26/2022 3:11 PM
You would need to establish that women feel more comfortable sharing a changing space with the men I listed before than sharing a space with another woman who happens to have a *****.

Feelings don't matter in the locker room case.
Thats how I see it. This is the modern world and stupid cannot sway.

A kid that is female and dresses female and thinks female is female. When you have all 3 then people have to get on the right thing.
The kids have to live through the learning process
NO DIFFERENT then racist kids being uncomfortable sitting next to kids of other races or genders or religions.

This is such a stupid idiotic non issue and I truly mean zero disrespect to Bruce when I say that. I just wont mince my words.

The racism point is a really good one.

In the 60's, would Bruce have said, "why are you prioritizing the feelings of one black student over the feelings of a hundred white students who don't want the black one in their class?"
1/26/2022 3:59 PM
I get what you guys are saying in theory.
I just think y'all are dismissive of the rest of the girls. "Tough it out and deal with it"?

Think about what is likely the most common scenario. These girls grew up with Jimmy. They've known him most of their lives. Now Jimmy is a girl and in their locker room.

If it were some stranger who by all accounts looks to be a female, then I whole heartedly agree it would likely never even get noticed.

Of course it is.
When is bringing racism up EVER not a great idea when discussing any issue?
Page 1 Rule 1. Bravo.

The comparison might be relevant if the idea was to desegregate all locker rooms as the new norm.

Well apparently, according to many "woke" folks, that's not seen or paid attention to by pubescent teens nowadays...
