Another thought I had was on having to name the year of your player when posting your selection. Might be too rigid and work against the spirit of strategy that we all want. You would still exclusively own the right to any Peyton Manning, but it gives you room to retool the roster as you may have second thoughts on that 10 mil salary year. But absolutely, we would keep the OL, DL and ST firm on stating the year in your selection post, as this provides the 10 yr bubble as well.
What do you guys think? I was trying to imagine if it was possible for someone who would take on the draft angle of-- picking up the best of the leftovers post draft- the All Star undrafted team with a boatload of money. Not any great players, but a stout OL and DL with really good undraftees to realize insane team depth.
I guess it would be easy to see that trend by mid draft of picking up specialty players or bench dudes and saving up money. And when you count how many skill position guys will be off the board, you would get the 25th best QB, 73rd RB, 73rd WR, 49th TE, etc. It actually adds more fun on the back end of the draft-- as you are looking at the remaining inventory and your spots to fill/available cash.
I say there is no requirement to post the year of the player selection, but certainly the year must be posted on the OL, DL and ST selections. Happy to hear any feedback on this topic. If you know someone who may enjoy this type of league, lets bring them into the fold. Its a slow burn, but we can get there little-by-little as many previous theme leagues have demonstrated.
