The Jimmy issue would be so rare in something all ready so rare.
maybe a few girls might feel funny at first but they adapt and it wont be traumatic and they wont need a shrink unless their parents decide they need it.

This is not about the kids. It is about the parents.

We are living in a brave new world.
And the kids are all right.

Except in the shower.........................
Well apparently, according to many "woke" folks, that's not seen or paid attention to by pubescent teens nowadays...
yeah, right? How would anyone other than a pubescent teen know what they pay attention to? I do know that when I was pubescent teen (it has been a while) I would have noticed and paid attention if a pubescent teenage female was in my locker room.

I get what you guys are saying in theory.
I just think y'all are dismissive of the rest of the girls. "Tough it out and deal with it"?

Think about what is likely the most common scenario. These girls grew up with Jimmy. They've known him most of their lives. Now Jimmy is a girl and in their locker room.

If it were some stranger who by all accounts looks to be a female, then I whole heartedly agree it would likely never even get noticed.
I promise you that it's not as big a deal as you think. The easiest solution is to let men use men's areas and let women use women's areas.

I have family members who had PE classes with trans people. It really isn't an issue to let them use the locker room of their choosing. It's actually more uncomfortable when they don't, because otherwise, you have a woman in the men's room and vice versa.

The racism point is a really good one.

In the 60's, would Bruce have said, "why are you prioritizing the feelings of one black student over the feelings of a hundred white students who don't want the black one in their class?"
Of course it is.
When is bringing racism up EVER not a great idea when discussing any issue?
Page 1 Rule 1. Bravo.

The comparison might be relevant if the idea was to desegregate all locker rooms as the new norm.
The comparison is apt because it's pointing out that simply trying not to hurt the feelings of as many people as possible isn't always the best solution.

When one side is experiencing actual harm, and the other side is slightly uncomfortable, I know who I'm gonna prioritize. Trans women who are forced to use men's locker rooms are in actual danger.

It's just an example - stop getting so triggered over racism.

I know a trans guy - he would not fit in in a women's locker room. If he walked in, most women would be uncomfortable.

I don't doubt that. And I agree with whoever said (I think it was you) that his/her discomfort at using the men's locker room should not outweigh the fact that most of the women in the women's locker room would be uncomfortable if he/she was in there.

Again apples and oranges.

You're describing already transitioned folks. I acknowledged that I agree and it would likely go unnoticed, but I specifically said I was referring to teens who have yet to transition.

I'm sure I'm wrong again, but that seems like a huge difference.

Do you think most people affected by this law are transitioning/making an effort to pass as cis?

I don't know why you would make a moral statement affecting a broad group of people when you're specifically only targeting a select population of a given group.

woah betsy

hold up

what's a puberty blocker
A commonly-used prescription medication that essentially blocks the internal effects of puberty from happening in teens.

It's safe, reversible if one chooses, and the most common treatment recognized as helpful for trans youth.

Conservatives hate puberty blockers because it's the very obvious solution to the problems they ***** about.
i did not know such a drug existed

my opinion now is Any child who wants to trans has to wait til they're 18

meanwhile they take the drug and stay with the OEM restrooms and sports until then

Usually actual medical procedures/hormones don't happen at super young ages. Again, the common practice is to prescribe puberty blockers until they reach an age where hormones/SRS is best.

You just described essentially the current medical practice that conservatives want to ban.

Why not let them play the sports of their choosing? Guys don't have a biological edge until puberty. A trans woman who is on puberty blockers is effectively equal in terms of athletic ability to a cis woman.

"When they force high school girls to share their locker room with a biological male to appease his feelings, they are blatantly disregarding the feelings of the hundreds of girls who are very uncomfortable."
"A ***** does not belong in a women's locker room."

Tangy. How about assessing Josh Allen's performance vs. your Chiefs last week? You willing to admit the guy can play QB and has the leadership necessary to win a SB yet?
1/27/2022 11:49 AM
I was wrong about Josh Allen.

MAHOMES IS STILL BETTER THOUGH. 13 SECONDS ************
