I am OK with that but how to do we decipher who are and who are not? If we can get that down I am in agreement with you. My parents came over and learned the language, customs, etc. They didn't try to spread communism LOL. I see the women still wearing their burkas and treated very badly by the men. And don't tell me they want to wear burkas on a 90 degree summer day. They don't. It is like saying street walkers want to be doing what they are doing.

How do we vet those who are coming here for that reason? A president's first priority is to protect the current citizens. I think if there isn't a fairly reliable system to tell the good people from a region from the bad, it is not unfair to suspend visitation for everyone from that region. I understand that there is no perfect method that determines good from bad, but right now we have little to no ability to background check people from Muslim majority countries. We should not allow them until there is a reasonable system. This is very unfortunate for muslims who do want to come here for a better life.
If you think of it that way, there is no way to ensure that AMERICANS will not commit crimes, too. There is a risk to immigration, but IMO the risk is so small that we can take the risk.

Your opinion is noted and I think you are insane. Honestly. Utterly insane. It makes me cringe to think that there are others like you. Seriously cringe. WOW!

I too can't understand the belief that dead Americans are preferable to unhappy Muslims.

There will never be a way to prevent immigrants from committing crimes, that doesn’t mean we stop allowing immigrants.

I am not talking about crimes I am talking about following the constitution and separation of church and state. My parents are immigrants but they came here legally, learned the language and customs and became tax paying members of society. My dad has given 100x more than he received in aid to others so that they may come to this country. Legally and not to impose their way of life on us.

The families of the people killed by terrorists in America would not say the risk is small. We can't know which citizens are going to commit crimes, but you can't use that analogy. American citizens have a right to be here. Immigrants do not. It is a privilege for them. We can reasonably assess people that come here legally from most countries. We do not have a solid system in place for people from Muslim majority countries. Until we have such a system, it is fair to suspend visitation from those countries.

Once again, no system is perfect. Right now, it is a crap shoot with Muslims. We are able to vet immigrants who come here LEGALLY from other countries. Nobody said that we should stop allowing immigrants. We should stop allowing immigrants from Muslim countries until we can background check them.

I disagree, but we can agree to disagree. I think that immigrants have a right to live here, and even if you are right, some people would say that LIVING IN AMERICA IN GENERAL is a privilege. To be fair, the people did not choose to be born in a specific country.

11/28/2017 7:03 PM
But it's not a crap shoot with everyone. We have criminal histories of people looking to legally move to America from Mexico, Canada, France, England, Japan, China, Switzerland and the list goes on and on. We don't have that with people from that region of the world. This is a huge difference. Once again, it's not an exact science with most countries, but it is not a crap shoot either.
