still not sure i get it, open up the forums in another tab and then find the specific page and then quote? doesnt that mean that in one of the tabs you are still having to constantly go back to the proper page? or am i missing an element?

seems like a beating.
right click on the quote button, and choose open in new tab.
Or if you have a scroll wheel in your mouse scroll click the quote button, a new tab pops up with the text box type your post, submit, close the tab.
works good for me

I saw that, but timing isn't the best - I want to have some overlap so I don't have this downtime - with the timeframe KP is on, I could wind up with nothing to do in either world.
