You can use the designated season or any other from their career. You are not required to twist to a different season.

Great themes as always. And as always, I will have one or two good to pretty good teams, a few average teams and 2 to 3 that are hot garbage. Appreciate all the effort you guys put into this every year.

140M: I'm assuming that all teammate eligibility comes from WIS appearance--i.e. if my chosen player actually played on three teams in a season, but only two were WIS eligible, I could only choose teammates that year from the two WIS-eligible teams. Correct?

I knew there would be nuances we didn't anticipate. ...

I would say that WIS-eligible in this theme just determines the seasons that require teammates. And the rules do say "If your player appeared for multiple teams in a season, pick one for the teammate." So you can use a teammate from any team from that season, even if he doesn't have a sim-eligible partial for it. Because he should at least have a combined for every team he played for, right?

It's crazy how many really good teams I've already built for the $140M league that don't even come close to the cap.
I'm struggling to find a quality team... I've built 2 that I don't like... And researched a bunch of guys to find they aren't even worth trying

I’ve found some really good quality teams but they’re around $130M. I think whoever is able to use $140M without much waste will have a big edge.

A helpful tip for those building your $100M rosters. Make sure you choose season type "FULL/PARTIAL" before you enter any other of the search parameters. It's really easy to forget to do that when switching from hitting to pitching and vice versa. Then you get through a complete build only to later realize you have a "COMBINED" season and it screws up your entire build.

I bet a bunch of illegal rosters will be entered in the 100M theme. (Probably true at 140M as well, but fixing the 140M roster will be much easier).

$100 MillionThree Year Dynasty
Pick 3 consecutive seasons of a single franchise (i.e., 1929-31 Athletics). You must build your roster from players on these three teams (no twisting) without clones. You must roster at least 8 players from each season. You must spend at least $25M from each season.

Seasons: All
DH: No
Clones: No
Ballpark: Use a stadium your chosen team played in for at least one of your seasons (or What If Sports Park, if not available)
Alignment: Random
300K exceptions: No
Combined seasons: You can use only partial or full seasons from your franchise
Team name: Please include your franchise and 3-year time period as part of your team name
I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m finding this $100M theme extremely difficult. I get close to the end, but then the 8 players per season plus no 300k exceptions prevents me from finishing a team. Any wiggle room on the 300K exceptions? So many teams don’t have these guys, and it would be really helpful to just plug a couple minimum players in at the end.

this isn’t even about submitting a roster I like, it’s about finishing one at all. Allowing 300k exception, then changing it to minimum 7 and maximum 9 players per year would make some more teams possible.

Am I the only one? I’ve tried many many teams so far

It is a challenge, to be sure. I built my first 3 rosters for it tonight, so it's possible even with some compromises. The theme committee has been chatting about it. Let's see if we can get our heads together and decide if a tweak would be wise at this juncture. It's early enough for anyone to adjust, but I don't really love the idea of changing anything unless we feel it's really needed.

It's highly unlikely that you will be able to build a roster without some waste. The normal construction of saving $2 million for you last 7-8 roster spots won't work. There was actually talk that the cap was too high as many seemingly good teams came in well under 100m.

It's unlikley there will be any changes.
5/11/2025 8:27 AM
Ya, I think changes would make it too easy. I have multiple eligible rosters. I’m not super stoked about them, but as schwarze said, everyone will likely have to deal with some waste/compromises.

I agree with the no changes. This isn't about being easy. It's about doing your best. I have built 3 teams so far for the $100M theme and all were very comparable in stats with each one having a thing or two I didn't like. I liked the hitters on 1 team better, the pitchers on one team better and the fielding on 1 team better. Sometimes you just have to pick your poison and hope for the best.

Wait, people are actually approaching the $100m cap? I’ve looked at 14 teams so far and the highest salary I’ve been able to put together that meets the rest of the rules is just a hair above $86m. I had one reach $99.9m, but it didn’t meet the salary distribution rule (got the 8/8/9) as it had $43m each from two seasons and the remaining ~$14m from the third… I have a handful of teams/seasons I still plan to play around with, but I was figuring anything that hit $90m was probably a winner… not too many teams that had three consecutive seasons with enough (different) hitters to give you an offense that’s suitable for $100m.

My problem exactly
