The issue I found is starting infielders.
Canada is loaded with starting pitchers!

So, how many starting slots, and how many bench slots, in total per team?

Japan has the same problem. They have literally just one catcher, and no primary first or third basemen. Nobody is going to take that team unless it gets opened up to include American players of Japanese descent (Kurt Suzuki, for example) or combined with other Asian countries like Korea, Taiwan, or Australia.

Cakes, what about if Japan & Korea were put together as one team if Japan literally can't fill a roster (I'm including terrible MLB players, not literally none)?

Am still awaiting roster answers to my roster questions.
This is based on 31 slots for a total of $150 million.

What I may do is allow for like 6 position players/4 pitchers random talent minor leaguers to supplement the teams that do not have enough infielders, catchers, or quality pitching. I am in another league with a similar concept that does this and it seems like it works out well. You will likely get 3-4 minor leaguers who can legitimately contribute at the positions you need, in turn balancing it out

The standard 25-man rosters, but I may add minor leaguers to supplement for limited/missing positional choices

I am open to both suggestions on this. I would allow for players of Japanese decent (ie Suzuki) or a mix of Japan/South Korea/Taiwan. In doing my research I realized there's no way anyone would take a Korea or Taiwan team because of the limited quality options, so I am completely fine if players from those countries are added to make the rosters competitive.

I subtracted my 31 players to 25.
I'm currently at $136 million for Team Canada.
Yes, that includes barely meeting the IPs minimum and easily meeting the ABs minimum.
I should probably switch one of the batters for another pitcher.

A Japan/Korea/Taiwan combination squad allows for exactly two catchers: some version of Kenji Johjima, and 2020 Tzu-Wei Lin. Not great, but at least it’s possible, lol

I think even if you allow that, a small mix of minor league players to fill out a bench will still be needed.

Sounds like the consensus is minor leaguers are necessary for some rosters. I feel like a Japan team is almost a necessity in this league, so if we need to supplement their weaker positional spots (catcher, MIF, etc.) to make sure they are playable I am okay with that

Here's a mock Japan roster. Obviously not full but basically the starter level. It would definitely need AAA supplements to be more competitive, but its not terrible. Throw in a couple Korean players and its very solid. Here were the totals:
Actual Batting Totals 6150 5467 176 686 233-52 971-552 31.1 .300 .368 .466 B/C+ $49,959,651
Actual Pitching Totals 85-38-21 1,355 2.50 .194 1.00 10.81 2.64 0.87 1306-319 $53,507,184

Still about 20M in salary space to play with too

DJT has started offering me help to try to complete my Team Canada roster.
In the process he pointed out that my SS is American. I looked farther and he was correct, so I now have no SS due to Canada seemingly not having any since after 1929.

I entered this forum because WIS offered me a single season for under $2 Can.

I'd have chosen the Dominican Republic because I was there for over half a year to escape Canada's fascism early 2022.
The good people there were great!
The bad people were worse than ours but their good ones were better than ours. lol

You can still choose a DR team if you want. It just has to be different from 2020-2025. For example, you could choose the early 2000s with Pedro and Pujols.

If you’re set on a Canada team, you can also supplement their roster with average AAA players so you can meet the position requirements. We still have spots to fill, so if you are interested I’d love to find a way to help out.
