I really liked starting with the two picks. You get to avoid making a coin flip between a pitcher and a position player (18 owners did the split, 4 double-dipped on pitchers and 2 on batters). I would definitely want to keep that the same. On the days where I didn't get to make a pick I would figure out who I would have drafted with the double picks.
I haven't done the live draft utility, but it sounds like fun (and this draft was a lot of fun, getting up in the middle of the night to see what picks were in, and putting together practice rosters to see if picks would work).
The cap should not go down. It doesn't have to go up, but I won't complain if it went up another $10 million and didn't make a big jump.
If we started with two picks a day from the start and then upped it to three or four towards the end, that could work. I toyed with the idea of have a cap on how many picks you can fall behind without a penalty, but this draft was not a fair judge of that because we were "on the clock," and nobody ever fell behind that. Many of us were able to take advantage of having multiple picks to make when our turn finally came because we knew not to take an OF on pick A because a better one would be available with pick C. At one point I didn't make 2 picks I could have made because I needed to see who gotten taken in the previous round with the C pick, because I wanted the SP with the C pick over the 2nd choice with the A pick. That being said, you don't want that situation to get out of hand, and, again, everybody made their picks on time. Not their fault some of us were 5+ picks ahead.
I can see a rule that you can't repeat a primary team for five seasons, which should be easier to keep track of than a list that lasts for double-digit seasons. I would love to have the Dodgers for my first pick again, but that should not be permitted for x number of seasons.
Having the spread sheet was very helpful, not just because I could do a word search to make sure my picks were clean, but because I could see the picks of the owners in front of me and see that they already had a 2B and wouldn't be picking the one I wanted five picks down the road. I think it would be helpful that when a pick is made that the position is indicated, because there were a couple of picks where I couldn't tell which infield position they were being picked for.
Also, for future spreadsheets for this draft, it might be helpful if the order of the owners was not alphabetical but the order in which we are picking. Then you can see who you are waiting on if chewy is not around next time diligently reminding us of who is up to bat.
