I'm kind of intrigued about looking into the gloves and arms of second basemen to see how much each help turning double-plays.
Sadly, I don't think there is a correlation. In Double Mendoza season 4 I had a 77/77/80/80 guy (won a GG in season 4) and had a way above average number of DPs. The same SS-2B-1B combo were well below average in DPs in season 5. I played an 84/81/65/59 guy at 2B for 100 games in season 6 (same SS and 1B) and we were only slightly above average..
While the year I had the most DPs coincided with the year of my best GB/FB ratio, I have had wild swings in DPs (with th same infield) when the GB/FB ratio remains the same. Also, the year I had the most DPs is also the season I had my lowest OAV. It's as if DPs are only efftected by the SPD of the batter.
