This was a good learning experience for me.  Considering getting active in FA in a couple of my worlds this time around, and I definitely learned some helpful tidbits (stuff that's been obvious to you guys forever but I never realized due to not paying attention to the FA period almost ever.)

My favorite is to add a bunch to my watch list and then just monitor to see who starts dropping salary from lack of interest. I can usually get a few cheap guys that way.

I hate it that tisi always keeps me from the pitchers I want in FA. That's 3 years in a row.
BP just nabbed my guy after I had led on him for a cycle.
That small-stamina guy? That was a good signing. I was thinking of moving salary just to get him.
Tanyon Scott? Yep, that's him. I offered two years at his asking price, BP offered three.
I liked him a lot. But didn't expect he'd drop in price.

I liked having him very much, and would have been happy to bring him back.  But I upgraded instead.

Fair point, but no, that wasn't one of them.  I don't particularly feel like pointing out the depth of my lack of attention to detail at this point.  But it's similarly basic ****.
