I am basing the couple of AS appearances comment on the assumption that he is playing 3B in the future for what it's worth.

He does hit right handed. And I think he's definitely more of an inflated overall rating than anything. But I also feel like I could swing him in a deal next spring training and use the absurd projection to net a better group of prospects back.

He's 20 years old, so I see him improving more than Busk. He is a very solid piece to a winning club. Just don't think of him as a centerpiece or you won't get far. He will play a passable (barely) SS while giving you an over .800 (but less than .900) OPS. Keep him at SS in the minors for 2 more years then make him a SS/3B in the majors.

I agree with tisi

Offensively, I think he will hit decently, though Id rather have more of a pure power hitter in the 3/4 slot, he would be ideal as a 1,2, or 5.

Defensively, I think he will be a very solid defensive 3B, and a bad SS. His main selling point, is the ability to consistently play 162 games without fatigue. Hes a cal ripken jr. wannabe

I agree with you as well. .800-.900 seems right. I stated in my projections that it is what I expect from him at 22. What happens or how close he gets to his projections from where I guessed to age 27 almost entirely has to do with coaching, levels, training, etc.

I think the bolded portion is really overrated. He only needs to play enough games to contribute in the regular season. As long as I am making the playoffs, he will play all the games that matter and I will have at 100%. That is why I make guys like Caruso in HR be such an important part of my future.

I don't know how close he'd actually come to even the least generous of projections. He's already been in AAA for two full seasons and doesn't seem to have the patience to allow continued seasoning. I feel he might stagnate earlier than what's expected.

If I get this guy in a trade, I will make every attempt to swing him to some n00b for better prospects. His current owner seems to be accu-valuing him, or at least valuing him similarly to anyone who ignores overall ratings might. But I think there has to be at least one dunce in Clemens* next season that would give up an acey type pitcher for this dude.

DUR does is get him more awards and drive up his price though.

I have young and cheap options at SS and 3B already, so I'm not looking for him specifically.

All right, well, maybe I am between you and tisi then. He is progressing at the natural rate this season, his third in the pros... seems to be on the right trend and getting enough ABs. I would imagine training and coaching are probably pretty decent given that. I just based my projections on how well I can predict ratings based on given growth... I could be crappier at that than I think. Summon BLE though... I would guess that he would project something similar to me.

Yeah, I say try and flip him if you think it is cost effective. I like your current options.
