Round 2 Themes, 2025 Topic

Question for the draft theme:

Will the "captain" who selects the two-year period automatically be placed in the division for that two-year period? Or, since the divisions are set up chronologically by the two-year period, will the "captain" potentially get a different two-year period than the one they picked?

For example, will the "captain" who was ranked #1 in Round 1 automatically be placed in the NL East, and then potentially get matched with a two-year period earlier chronologically than the one he himself selected?

The captain will draft from the period they choose. After all 6 captains pick, we will know the division alignment based on chronology. Then the other 18 owners will pick their division to enter.

Putting out some proposed round 2 deadlines for feedback now.

We should be done with playoffs and have commitments to participate by the end of the month. We can start the drafts one after the other off the clock after that. The $90m one shouldn’t take long and people can start building those rosters quickly. The $255m one is your roster build as you draft.

I’m thinking about:
Sept. 22 - 3 teams in
Oct. 6 - 6 teams in

Seems fair. Hopefully the $255M draft can remain off the clock for a while, assuming folks are relatively responsive.

Since the $255 will become 6 separate drafts, those will each run at their own pace. I don’t foresee using a clock there.

A few years ago when we had 6 separate four person drafts, the one I was in was done in about 6 days. I like that. Glad there's no month long drafts this year. However I have a feeling that the 90m draft will take longer than you expect. A lot of the key seasons will be off the board in the first round, leaving everyone scrambling and improvising. I could def. see a scenario where someone takes 2 or 3 days to make a selection.

In theory we could start the other draft while that one moves along, too. I’m open to what the group prefers.

Yeah seems like no reason to wait unless I'm missing something.

I figured some people might balk at two drafts plus the other builds, but I’m game to just let them fly and if we get slowed down, so be it.

For the $100M:

If I already have a specific player in mind, where can I see what uniform numbers he wore during his career?

For the $100M:

If a player meets two criteria (i.e. born on the same date in the same state) can I use two seasons of theirs?

If you’re on his bb- ref page, you’ll see circles with numbers inside them. Clicking on any of those will take you to a list of players who also wore that number.

No, there are no clones in this league. You can use him for either connection, though.

Where do those show up? Think I must just be missing them. Maybe they don't know them for everyone?
