While I support the intent of your post, I think it's a bit unfair to suggest anyone on the clock overnight isn't being diligent enough or is leaving others waiting. If someone goes to bed at 11pm EST when they're a few picks away, their pick comes up at 1am EST and they pick at 8am when they wake up, I don't consider them having held up the draft. Especially since it's unlikely that anyone they sent their proxy to would pick before morning in that case anyway.

While some people can definitely do better with proxies, and while I also applaud the owners you mentioned, there is an element of luck in not being the one left holding the potato when the music stops.

If you are due up in the next 2-3 spots, leave a proxy (even if its just one player). I don't expect somebody due up 7 spots away to leave one.

I understand. My point is, someone can leave proxies and if their pick comes up at 1am, that pick likely doesn't get made until morning anyway, yet under your scenario, they count as someone we've "waited on overnight".

It's nice when we can close that gap, but I expect a 7-8 hour gap each night and don't count it against anyone for not picking during that timeframe.
