I think the WESPL Progressive has solved the tanking issue.

The draft is determined by a formula that rewards W's and punishes higher salaries, current and upcoming season keepers.
Or in other terms, rewards winning teams with lower salaries. This adds a dimension where finding cheap talent lower down in a draft is important. Platooning is critical in this league.

Do you reuse tea bags as well?

I like formula leagues....I just feel it takes a few seasons to get it right.

I reuse tea bags but only once. I do let the second time steep a long time though,

John Tyler-10th U.S. President had a GRANDSON that died this year….Not great grandson, but grandson…

Tyler was born in 1790 and still had a grandchild living until this year…

A 235 year span…Put that in your “Tippycanoe and Tyler, too” spreadsheet…

1. I learned this week that Rube wasn't actually a name, it was a nickname given to rural baseball players in the early 1900's. I feel a bit silly not getting that earlier.
2. I really need to reconsider how I value pitchers OAV. I think I am focusing too much on ERC, BB/9 and Hr/9. I've been looking at OAV about 4th and it's at least as important as the other 3.
3. Joel Youngblood's 1984 season may be the worst field season since gloves were invented.
4. There are so many SP's who only have one good season.
5. You can always find OF's in progressive drafts in 5th+ rounds. Like good ones.
6. I didn't know John Tyler's grandson died this year. I did know that he was still alive, probably like 30 years ago. It was ridiculous then, too.
7. Kevin Costner is a weird dude.
8. When Mike Trout started his career (like the first 10 years) he was statistically comparable to Mickey Mantle and Frank Robinson, now he's more of a Duke Snyder and Dick Allen. It's hard to be an All time great.

Deep thoughts.

Re: John Tyler, my daughter went to William & Mary (also Tyler's alma mater) - where the fact that his grandson was still alive in the 2020s was a well-known fact.

And if you're reading this and aren't COMPLETELY blown away by this piece of trivia...you need to look it up.

Pretty sure Tyler’s son was president of W&M, in like the 1920’s.

Re: Youngblood WOW! you weren't kidding and it only took Danny Ozark 10 games to figure out he wasn't a 3B-man anymore!
