Should I just start entering slightly tweaked teams into every open league and beating him until he stops? And then I would stop.
No this would make the problem worse

For instance, his standard two-man rotation of Walsh and Coveleski are not optimal from a $/IP relative to quality perspective — some other questionable choices as well. Beatable for sure.
Up to you if want to start entering teams specifically to beat him Ozo.
It's not like that team is invincible, I've beaten it and many others have.
Besides, even if we draft a team to beat him specifically, we all know that no team is ever guaranteed to win every time, no matter how perfectly designed it may be.
There will always be the possibility of losing a key game in 19 innings after a hit batter, having your pitcher ejected from the game, your catcher's throw sailing to the outfield on a steal attempt and then balking in the winning run, or other weird and extreme ways to have the better team lose a series. We've all seen that happen.

It's just that after like, two years of seeing that same team in almost every single OL nausea starts to build up.

He ends up filling a third of every $80mil ToCs, (He doesn't use the $1.6mil bonus cash specifically to avoid standard $90mil ToCs) because that's "his plan". This way he will snatch half the reward points away from legitimate owners, from the quarter finals on. I have a friend who had to beat that same team 3 times in one ToC only to finally lose to it in the finals. I could understand his frustration.

It's cheap, lazy, dirty and cowardly.
Then he brags in OL forums "I'm just having fun making a mockery of OL" and will insult anybody that will point him out as the parasite that he is.

But hey, by any means, feel free to come into his sandbox and pound him to the ground if you are inspired to do so!

@06gsp with all due respect, I'm not sure how it would make things worst than the mwett one has already made them tbh.

I'm not sure newer owners are going to appreciate the subtlety of what ozomatli is doing, and they'll just see two identical cookie-cutter teams in every league instead of one.

For mwett's team to start seeing a significant decline in wins it would take at least five or six elite owners entering strong teams in every league, one added team better than his in every league isn't going to prevent him from making the playoffs every time. And if a bunch of us starting entering monster teams, new owners (even pretty good ones) would be absolutely slaughtered and become even more likely to quit after one team.

Too bad administration doesn't see how this is hurting the site. Its got to be next to impossible to keep new Owners who 99.9% of the time start with open teams and have to go up against cheaters like him.

He must live a sad, lonely life

Alternatively, I like the proposal from earlier in the thread that someone made about having open leagues be tiered by number of championships.

That would likely solve the issue since the number of leagues he’d be able to enter would drop (since fewer owners either lots of championships play open leagues, so the leagues would fill slower, and the competition he’d face would on average be tougher to consistently beat).

yeah thats a good idea and less effort to implement than dynamic pricing

How about limiting the number of owner's teams in a ToC?
We can only enter one team per OL I'm not sure why there isn't a limit for ToCs.
It's common to see an owner with 2,3 maybe 4 teams in a ToC and I don't have a problem with that, but Mwett is totally abusing this loophole.

2 man rotations are just SO unrealistic. A fairly simple solution for this issue would seem to be to just eliminate the possibility of using a 2 man rotation.
I HATE them. The few times I do make the playoffs somewhere I invariably run up against a 2 man stud rotation. And as I refuse to ever use a 2 man rotation (just out of pure stubbornness, I guess--never have never will!) I'm always (IMO) competing on a tilted (and unfair) playing field.

I'd LOVE it IF admin. just eliminated the possibility entirely!

This penalizes other owners too much for doing well in various theme leagues, etc. Some of your teams might end up not actually playing in the TOC they earned for literally years, especially at lower caps.

The tiered OL idea elegantly addresses the main problem here without really impacting anything else negatively. I'll mention it to site staff and see what they say.

Yeah, I've experienced that in low cap theme leagues, had a few teams wait nearly a year to get the tournament going.

But are you saying that in some of those leagues, unless some owners had more than 4 teams, the league wouldn't have started?

I haven't seen that myself but you've been in a lot more theme leagues than I have.

For the OL solution, I'm all for it.
7/28/2025 12:36 PM
I'm just saying that TOCs fill slowly, especially at lower caps.

I've had TOCs where I've had 7-8 teams in them before from various themes. So that's roughly 3-4 more leagues that would have needed to be completed for the TOC to start just from me alone, plus then my 7th or 8th team would be waiting in the TOC for likely multiple years before getting to play. That penalizes everyone for something one bad actor (Mwett) is doing.

Let's see what Admin says about the OL solution.

Response from support:

"This situation has been brought up and reviewed and since there is no rules violation (albeit not enjoyable by the community) there is no enforcement needed here. You're welcome to add this suggestion to our feedback site for us to consider/review for possible future updates. You can add this by going to the "community" tab and then selecting "feedback" to add this."

Disappointing, but I went ahead and created an issue on the feedback board. If you'd like to support this issue being prioritized, please upvote it here by clicking the Upvote button in the top right part of the page.

Disappointing to say the least.

It's easy to say no rules have been broken, we all know that.
What it is, is a loophole that is being exploited and abused and THAT should warrant some form of reaction.
That is, if they care to keep their customer base and fragile community active and somewhat satisfied.
I really thought this new ownership team would be more dynamic and closer to the community's needs and concerns, being players themselves, but so far, it's a little like The Who's song "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!"

So, basically, go ahead Mwett, make your day!

I just upvoted the proposal and I encourage others to consider doing so as well. An elegant idea indeed, but also a simple solution.
