My only loss in the pm cycle today came in 19 innings in the 125M league, with several SP pulled into action. Should be fun trying to adjust after this one. But I'll take the 5-1 nonetheless.

1-11 over last 2 sessions. Not good.

My 70M team may be the difference between me advancing or not. 12 wins. That team is god awful. When am I going to learn to draft enough innings

Not quite as low as 12 wins, but same boat over here. I knew my $70m team was bad going in (spent too long deliberating franchises, ran out of time, took the path of least resistance) but was hoping it wouldn't be quite THIS bad. Hoping they can at least get a little closer to .500 (or even .400) as the season goes on but not holding my breath.

Big pile of just mid for my teams, too many 2-4’s

I guess I can take solace that my $80 million team is still hitting home runs and coasting off its hot start

Finished the second 1/6 with a schwarze to help salvage what was barely .500 play for most of it. Wound up with 91 wins, so I’ll gladly take that.

Ooof first mauch. Rough.

I'm off to a dreadful start for part 3, though weirdly a schwarze was mixed in

you should get extra points if all your teams Exp% is greater than their Win%

In the previous four WISCs I finished 9th, 13th, 13th and 12th. I'm currently in the 40's with no signs of improvement whatsoever. As far as I can tell I haven't changed my teambuilding philosophy much, which suggests that everyone else has gotten better. I'm entering my crazy busy time at work, but hopefully at some point I'll be able to load some of my opponents rosters into Excel and try to figure out what they did right and what I did wrong. As it stands I am clueless and flabbergasted.

I currently have five teams that are not in the WISC. All are theme leagues; three are almost finished, one is more than 70% through the season, and the other is at the 80 game mark. Those teams are on an average of a 98 win pace.

I know that the competition in the WISC will be tougher than an average theme league, but I didn't expect it to be this much tougher. Or for me to be this much worse.

I'm certainly not an elite owner, but I think this year's themes really leveled the playing field. They were tough, but also enhanced the opportunity for some "lesser" owners to put together some competitive rosters.

I think it’s a little of both. It’s been so long since an update that even minor incremental improvements year over year in any owners ability to optimize will slowly add up. And yes, I also think the themes were really good from the standpoint of removing any obviously winning strategies for the most part.

That last sentence should not be read as self-serving. Although I was nominally part of the theme committee, I provided the least input in terms of where we ended up.
Well done to my fellow committee members.

I’m excited about the Round 2 themes, too. We are working out some of the final bugs, and I hope to have them posted by midseason. Probably sooner though.

@barracuda
Owners had a lot of time to research thoroughly and build their rosters which helps a lot of the newer owners like myself (3rd WISC) .... I had 3 versions for most of the leagues just cuz I had the time
