Since the shutdown Nasa has not released any info about iAtlas. At first it was blamed on the shutdown - no spokespersons.
But the science has not stopped. Since the shutdown there have been photographs and a lot of unreleased data. NASA has still been doing its thing.

Even those excusing this at first are now saying it is stupid. It lends itself to theories of coverup. Maybe it is.

There is nothing to stop Nasa from getting data out. It isn’t treason or espionage or illegal.

Just creates more mystery about this story.

Great photos will be taken on October 29 - the best yet. NASA will get the finest data but other international agencies will also get data also that will be released.
I don’t think it will be available same day but in about 10 days there will be a lot of fascinating data. And who knows what it will be.

They are a collection of the stupidest as well as the dumbest and the most racist and dangerous and violent and xenophobic and anti democracy people aside from the KKK/neo Nazis in the history of the USA. And they bring all of that to their war against science and education and common decency and honesty and the golden rule and medicine etc.

Something has gone wrong along the way for people who choose to be them. Not all are stupid or dumb or evil but the vast vast majority fit into one or more of those categories. Stupid is the selfish me me me democracy be damned people and the I don’t want to think for myself anymore land I am a rascist and happy to be one or I will happily get diabetes of the brain from all of the kool aid I lap down even though I do know right from wrong but F it anyway.

If Charlie Kirk was nominated by Trump for cabinet or some other important position and he was not well known he would be forced to withdraw even by republicans because of so many statements of racism of African American people and LBGTQ community and whatever else is out there. Trump has stopped negotiations of unknown quality with the country of Canada because of an advert put out by Ontario - a Canadian state like Texas.

And here is the crux of the story. The ad which is about the same as an ad put out by China in April uses actual and totally real excepts from a 1987 Ronald Raygun speech about the terrible policy of tarrifs. Reagan strongly and hugely warns that they are a very very disastrous policy and starts trade wars and hurts consumers a lot.

Trump says it is “fake” - one of his go to lies. Real stuff that hurts his reputation is called fake news and the reporters are worthless morons. Or as here he implies AI invention.

It is true that some sentences from the speech are in different order but obviously for dramatic impact. Every sentence is from the speech. Chunks from the speech are replayed and the entire speech was about the extreme danger of tariffs. Reagan was talking about the dangers of tariffs as he did the danger of Russia - he was not pulling punches.

The Reagan Foundation without explanation said the ad “misrepresented” the speech. But how because nobody can see that it does.

The speech was too long for the ad without editing.

The Canadian Prez mocked Trump for refusing to make a bet on the World Series. No worries life with Trump goes on same as it always was.

The new grand jury Investigations in Florida should be depressing to all. They want to charge anybody and everybody they can for involvement in the documents case.
The case brought against Trump was way way more than 100% necessary and valid. It was thrown out because the judge said that Jack Smith was was improperly appointed by a technicality.

The Documents Case sure did foreshadow the fascism we have invited into our country. This thing in Florida and what is happening with the DOJ is not merely weaponizing Justice departments but is a war on common sense and democracy and the rule of law and perhaps most of all a war on actual honesty.

When intellectual dishonesty gets rooted into vicious revenge and it is used to punish the people who are applying the law to real life fascism and insurrection; and the citizens do not rise up in mass to fight it you get the insidious spread of poison fascism.

If any of the people being persecuted through the so called judicial system are convicted it is as fatal as military oppression. We have grave danger on the doorstep.

How I stopped worrying and learned to love living with fascism.

Republicans like former RNC chief Michael Steele and former communications chief for Bush - Nicole Wallace. And chock full of other former government officials. These are really smart and really classy people.

And the same for the contributors.

If you feel comforted by lies and propaganda and hate by all means stick with FOX. If you want too much washy babbel watch CNN. It is ok just not nearly as good.

2. Website - The Drudge Report - the first and still the king of news websites. The first aggregator of news and still the only one that matters. Impeccable choice of stories. It is and really is the go to source for most members of congress on both sides. Once you start you are hooked forever.
The Hill is also a great source of website news.

3. Podcast - just so many great ones but I think that The Hill is really great.

Is the country formerly known as The United States back in the business of toppling regimes and propping up others and nation building?

Seems a lot like the early 60s.

Ronald Reagan famously said watch your wallet even though Carter wasn’t going to increase taxes on the people Reagan said it to.

And so the Republicans began their forever war on the truth and their endless distortion of reality. Every republican and their mother city state and federal from that point would accuse Dems of planning to raise taxes on middle class down when in fact they were talking about taxing the very wealthy.

For 45 years Republican voters from one generation to another fall for it. Hook line and sinker.

Now dems are trying to tell republicans that we must all watch our vote. Republican voters don’t care. The only thing that interests them is owning the libs.

Watch your vote is meaningless to the Fox house of worship watchers. They sit on the floor in their pajamas eyes peeled to the set like toddlers. They salivate at sneering commands like Pavlovian conditioned dogs. Beautiful dogs powerful dogs.

So the people who say we must not trade in democracy for fascism must rely on rank and file republicans to save the game. In this moment the grave danger remains constantly getting worse.

If the Supreme Court permits the expansion of the presidential power in unintended and dangerous ways they will expand presidential immunity even more and way more and in the hands of an evil man and generally evil administration. We have always relied on a system of checks and balances. It is being eroded.

What will the Supreme Court do? So far nuttin.
Institutions are only as good as the people who run them unless there is a judicial system that protects the institutions from unworthy people.

Only the judiciary can ultimately act a little like a finely tuned machine when it follows the law and acts in good faith. But the judiciary too is only as good as the people in it.

Currently we have bad people running the executive office and bad people running the legislature and the jury is out on what the Supreme Court is made of.
Two of them are corrupt devotees of the MAGA movement. They are upside down flag people. I will be generous saying they have not flunked yet but they are either a D or a D-.

Trump has about 43% approval against about 55% dis. I guarantee if push came to shove in a new election the result would be practically
just as close as 2024. Maybe Trump would slip a bit but it would be very very close. Even a win for the Dems would show the quality of the electorate.

We have a fill in the blank country.

Pay attention to any news that impacts freedom to vote without intimidation and attempts to confiscate or influence voting machines or corrupt vote counting or attempts to suppress the vote. Excessive redistricting already started based on race. And now we have a t
redistricting war and the Supreme Court has said anything goes and took away protections to prevent racial gerrymandering.

This country is in grave danger. And Im not very confident about the nuclear football either.
