One correction. The 1931 Cardinals had (have) 1461 IP. 1124 IP is how many your guys have actually pitched so far this season. But yes, Hallahan has been awful for you.

I think this just goes to show that even the greatest teams in baseball history had weaknesses, and in a league of the "best of the best," those weaknesses are hard to hide.

The league has long been full and round 1 is almost finished. I may do a similar tournament later this year (after the WISC), so stay tuned for that.

you're right on this, but Hallahan and his 266IP, 1.43 Real life whip and 10+ ERA had to be benched.

After 4.5 months, it all comes down to this. 1942 Cardinals and 1939 Yankees are ready to face off for the title. Thanks to everyone who went on this journey.

For those interested, I will likely do another tournament, similar but with some key differences based on learnings from this one. The next tournament will include the best teams from MLB history that did NOT appear in a World Series.

Not taking signups at this time - I doubt I'll even think about getting this set up until after the WISC concludes.

My pick for the 2nd greatest single-season team is the 1939 Yankees - they're in league 3, and that league is open.

1906 Cubs? They're in league 1, and THAT league is open...

Well this turned out to be somewhat prescient...the 1939 Yankees just won the whole tournament.

As far as I know, the only team in MLB history with a run-differential of +400.

They beat the 1942 Cardinals in a hard fought seven-game series. Congrats to coachgreat1!!
