The Century of the Tiger Topic

This league is a simple concept with a very strategic draft.

20 team league
25 round draft
No trades
No waiver
No DH
No clones
really no salary cap. I'll set it where the richest team is.

We will have a 25 man snake draft to fill our teams.

The eligible players to be drafted are any Detroit Tiger players who played on the Tigers from 1925 to 2024. You draft a player, not a season. Once you have that player you can use any of his Tiger seasons.

Every team will have a team entirely made up of Detroit Tigers.

If the first person picks Denny McLain, no one else can pick Denny McLain. The person picking him can use any season Denny McLain played for the Tigers as long as it's between 1925 and 2024..

If a player played part of the season with the Tigers and part with another team, you can't use the full season of that year, just the part he played with the Tigers.

This concept can be used in future leagues picking different franchises. I started with the Tigers because there is not an obvious superstar like Babe Ruth or Ted Williams but there are many star players at different positions.

So, pretty simple. We take the best Tigers of the last 100 years. Looking at the potential, these will not be all-star teams. The talent thins out pretty quickly, especially at some positions, so there will be a lot of strategy on when to fill the hard to fill positions even if the player is mediocre and there is a star left in another position.

Ask any questions. This is the first time I'm trying this.
