I should have created this thread a long time ago.

I had an interesting result in tonight's pm2 session. Here are the scores of my six games.

League 1: Loss 14-9
League 2: Loss 13-12
League 3: Win 12-11
League 4: Loss 11-5
League 5: Win 14-10
League 6: Win 10-9

That's a total of 130 runs scored across 6 games, which equates to an average of almost 11 runs per team, per game.

For comparison purposes, here is the average runs scored per game, per team, in each league.

League 1: 6.86
League 2: 5.30 (The Deadball era)
League 3: 7.79 (The Ruth era)
League 4: 6.62
League 5: 6.13
League 6: 5.41 (The 1960's)

It has been an interesting season for my team Sink or Swim as league 2 winds down. In the 31 games before the All-Star break my team went 5-26 (.161%). With the competition so high in these leagues I will usually have to overcome a 10 to 15 game "rough stretch" if I want to advance, but I can't remember a 31 game "rough stretch". My record outside of that 31 game stretch is 61-53 (.535 %), certainly not great but enough to advance. Even if I went 12-19 (.387%) in those 31 games I would be on pace to advance. That being said, my team is on a .455% pace and won't advance. For me that is not an uncommon occurrence, it's how that .455% was distributed that was strange.

The ineptitude of my League 7 team is baffling. My lineup has upwards of 275 HRs in a +2 homer park. Not only is my offense barely homering, but my pitching staff is giving up plenty of their own despite relatively good HR/9 numbers. A 2-16 record is nuts given some of the homer-prone pitching of that era.

For purposes of the playoffs, I need to do a better job of picking my division.

League 1:
The 3rd place team in the AL East is .500 or better and has a better record than the 1st place team in the AL West.
(Of course, it doesn't matter if I win 110 games)

League 3
The 3rd place team in the NL East is .500 or better and has a better record than the 1st place team in the NL West
Currenty at 71-54 (3rd place), while NL West division leader is 63-62.

League 5
The 3rd place team in the NL West is .500 or better and has a better record than the 1st place team in the NL East
Third place team is currently at 40-37 while NL West division leader is 38-39.

League 7
The 3rd place team in the NL West is .500 or better and has a better record than the 1st place team in the NL East
Third place team is currently at 15-8 while NL West division leader is 11-12

I'm in each of the "tougher" divisions. Poor job by me on division placement.

League 1...69-58 with 35 to go, leading the division by 7-9 games. Boom, light switch flips, 11 game losing streak and 14 of 15. Last 35, just 11-24. Lost the division by 6 and missed the cut for 4th by 3 gms. 15-20 would have made rd 2...unreal collapse.
