What is the importance with the FB in the Proset ...is it a necessity ?

necessity? no. The RB1 spot in this formation has no flexibility to block on either run or pass plays. They're running or going out for a route. The "RB2" spot in the formation has the option to block on both pass/run. So you can utilize this spot for a FB on run plays and pass catcher on pass plays.

a good fb is pretty important for having consistency running against the good teams. if your fb is just some guy you put there to get time and not a good jr or sr you will notice when it matters most.

This is wrong. Nothing to me makes sense at D3 so this advice doesn't work there. But if you want to run the football you better have an elite FB and an elite blocking TE blocking for you.

This the biggest held secret on this game right now. You saying this is the first time I have seen anyone share this information on the forum. The good teams know this and they all do it. But there are a whole lot of mis-information posts on this forum saying that FB don't matter and they don't help lol. If you read this and you play the game you should treat the FB just like you do your RB - just different traits. You cannot run without them.

(this is only for D2 and above i still don't understand D3)

When you say this, is the FB "in" and blocking?

That having a good JR or SR lead blocking is incredibly important for consistency in the running game.

I don't know, I think it's all about perspective. If you use an upperclassman as a FB, then you are losing the chance to increase the attributes of your younger guys that will be soon taking over the job of those upperclassmen. Although while you are possibly gaining an extra yard here or there by using both upperclassmen as RB and FB, I could possibly be making up that same yardage or more by having an upperclassman that has higher attributes because I started him when he was an underclassman. So during the season I say use your underclassman to help build up their attributes, or to meet recruiting promises. Then when it comes time for the CC and playoffs you can switch to your best possible team.

yes totally about perspective. most people don't lean on the run for their offense for starters. the benefits of a fb for them don't touch the benefit of another spot to grow a guy or hit a play %. for those who do rely on the run, you have to decide do i want another spot to grow a guy or do i want consistency? in a vacuum a yard or two here and there doesn't sound like much, but the plays don't unfold in a vacuum. a yard or two can mean a completely different play call for the next play. it can mean field position. it can mean points or no points. a good fb gives you consistency there which gives you more control. thats the main benefit of running is more control and predictability from play to play. its as much about the play that gets called, as it is what the result of that play will cause to be called next.

i wouldn't advocate fighting for one if he will only ever be a fb, but i don't hate going 1-2k miles to knock sims off if i have to. its pretty common that good rbs have at least decent fb cores too which can kill two birds with one stone.
