Triple Team/Year Progressive
I see a lot of leagues following players but what if you had to follow teams instead
1885/1919/1953/1987 - This will be the starting years
The way i calculated it even if years have a few less teams everyone should get 3 teams. Some years no leftovers and some a few
1892/1926/1960/1994 - 1892 12 teams
1900/1934/1968/2002 - 1900 6 teams
Initial Draft - 3 round serpentine + Random divisions
League Rules
Salary Cap ~ 115M
AAA - No (bring your best 25)
Must use 6 players each team ~ this keeps teams from drafting 2 crazy good teams and will keep salaries down
200K rule - none
No to DH ,WW and Injuries
Stadium ~ must use 1 that your team played...If for some reason you get 3 teams that don't have stadiums in WIS you will use WIS Park
No combined players can be used must use only the partial belonging to your team
Keepers, Subsequent Drafts and division alignment
Every team will keep 2 out of 3 teams the rest go in the draft. Your franchise will progress to the next year. If your franchise doesn't exist they are dropped. This will be accomplished at game 60
Draft will be roughly 1 round
Draft Lottery for last place team in each divison(6 team lottery) at the 132 game mark
Rest of non playoff teams in order by record. Tiebreakers will be Home Losses(lowest) than Team ERA(highest)
Playoff Teams will be the 2 W/C then 6 division winners by record and same tiebrakers
If you had 2 defunct teams which could technically happen you will be allowed to take a team at the end of the 1st round draft after everyone has drafted there 1. This only to be a problem in the 1800's
Division Winners will stay to defend everyone else is randomized
Trading - This is where things get a little more complicated i didn't want to completely get rid of trading so here is my idea
Pre-season trading
player for player only(easier to keep track)
if you have a 1919 team and trade for a player on a 1987 team that player will be a keeper on your
1919 team and vice versa. Traded players must be kept. Obviously must be underneath the salary cap.
Will last for one season only players revert back after the season to where they played the next year
In-season trading
Since there really is no incentive to trade picks in this league. Some teams that are playing for next year can trade a person from 1919 for a 1920 person. We will do keepers after game 60 as previously stated. You will only be able to trade players from your keeper teams. So if you trade your 1919 Art Nehf to a contending team they can offer you a player from a team they would own the following year say they own 1988 Dodgers can trade you for Orel Hershiser. you also need to send a player back but can be any agreed upon person to keep rosters at 25.
To eliminate any confusion lets make each deal 1 for 1 (you can still make multiple trades)
In this scenario you would claim him as a keeper for one of your teams and will count for any of your teams as a keeper. The owner losing Hershiser would just pick a different person as a keeper
Still only a 1 year deal. The 1989 Dodgers owner would retain him.
Only 1 year in the future a player can be traded and you must own that teams rights to be able to trade
Deadline for trades will be game 132
