Hey everyone.

At the conclusion of Cup XVII, I had stated that the next Cup would start the signup process in mid-October with group play sometime in early November.

Well, things are going to be delayed for a bit. Thanks to the US government shutdown, the household finds itself without a paycheck and possibly worse if the layoffs cut deep enough. Needless to say, the home front is slightly chaotic at the moment. Once the shutdown/job situation resolves itself, the wife and I are going to get out of town for a bit to decompress.

Cup XVIII will start sometime before the end of the year but I'm not exactly sure when. Once I get a clearer picture and Congress gets a clue, I'll post a revised signup date.

That's the worst. Ugh. I'm married to an essential employee which makes for a lot of grumpy days around here. Surely over by Thanksgiving...

I really appreciate the thoughts, guys. I have a feeling the game that's being played will end sometime in the next week or so...but that's just a guess from a non-essential employee.

I guess you don't know that the Gießböcke went undefeated (35-3-0) and won the German League title last season?

Very interested in seeing if I can quality for the Cup.

All you have to do is win a championship in a world.

Find an abandoned one and join, lol.

Or join an established one and build it up.

I've been in a tremendous league for sometime with three other guys. The title bounces back and forth between us, but one team has gotten a choke hold over the last few campaigns.

Yeah...that sucks. I guess I can contact customer service and see if they can restore my team but I doubt it. Probably need to start all over.

OK, so the work drama seems to be over as this week marks the first full week of work since the beginning of October. The one problem for the Cup is that I lost all three of my teams and, without one, I can't run the tournament.

So...I'm going to create a new team and get placed in a world somewhere (going to try to get back into World 71 and re-create my poor German squad that has been deleted now 4 times in its 14-year history.)

Lets place the tentative signup phase for Cup XVIII to be early January with group play to be mid-January. Playing a tournament during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays is something I usually try to avoid anyway.

Hoping all of you enter and I'll create the signup thread at the beginning of the new year.

Looks like they restored my team. Miracles never cease. I'm going to add a note to my CS ticket thanking them.
