Suggested changes to the GD environment

Recruiting Budget Carryover:
Revert back to 100% Carryover - which could be tempered by requiring coaches to move schools (based on level / type).

Move Requirements:

D3 or D2…if you want to stay and build a dynasty…have at it.

D1AA - 25 season contract.

D1A:

Non-BCS Conferences: 20 season contract - which would allow you to “Make Army Great Again” or go full Unabomber at Montana or Wyoming (one of my favorite locals). Or do a version of June Jones on the Big Island.

BSC Conferences:
- Non Elites: 12 seasons
- Elites: 6 seasons

Success Modifiers:
- Conference Championship: extends the “contract” by one season
- Natty: extends “contract” by 3 seasons

A couple other “wish list” items:

- You can start recruiting during the season (scouting / phone calls / letters) utilizing your carryover.

- 20% of your non-RS or starting players get dumped back into the recruiting pool (ala transfer portal).

- Injuries need to return, similar to the Hard Ball Dynasty model with have player health attributes coupled with budget spend by the team (which could be allocation from the recruiting budget - which the higher the number resulting in lowering the overall incident rate).

In practice, a team would experience between 0.5 to 1.0 injuries per game. The player’s health rating would determine their individual incident probability whereas the team modifier would also adjust the occurrence rate. For example:

TEAM
Base Injury Rate: 1.0/game
Health Allocation Modifier (derived from recruiting budget)
0 - 5%: +15%
5%: no adjustment
7.5%: -10% adjustment
10%: -20% adjustment
20%: -50% adjustment

Responses: 100% carryover - It has been said before that this would just make the rich richer. To go with this idea should be minimum recruiting efforts increase with ratings of the recruits. Example: Top 25 recruits would require an initial minimum 20 CV's for all teams. Top 10 in each position would require 10 CV's. Rest of top 250 would require 5 CV's.

OR

Go with complete auction system in two day rotation. Days 1 & 2: Bidding starts and winning bid gets player at end of day two. Winner pays the fee, everyone else gets their money back and round two (days 3 - 4) start. Again winner pays the fee and gets the recruit on day 4, everyone else gets their money back. Round three repeats on day 5 & 6. Round 4 on the last day has winners getting the recruits and losers getting their money back for the next season. Sims bid amounts that would keep the winners amounts honest, decreasing down each round.

Moving - just sounds like no fire contracts which we essentially have now.

Recruiting during season - +++

Transfer portal - Maybe for after the junior year for players who aren't playing. Should have a message "of concern" at the beginning of the season to alert the coach. Not for set number leaving.

Injuries - I agree BUT - with limited rosters keep total numbers low for any one team. Also I would like to see a fatigue component tied to durability. Low durability may mean a player may need to sit out a game during the season due to being tired.

100% carryover was changed to 25% for good reason. It was one of the biggest problems in game play here, a real rich-get-richer scheme.

Some sort of “move requirements” would be welcome to correct the indefinite squatting that occurs now,

Losing 20% of your roster would be a terrible time sink when recruiting time comes.

Coaches who want game results based on skillful play are against injuries. Coaches who want more and more randomness in the game love injuries.
