For many years, WISC league assignments in Round 1 were based on a seeding system that did its best to ensure each league was balanced and, therefore, earning points in each league was roughly as difficult as any other.

schwarze and I believed we could use a combination of each owner's historical WIS stats ("Stats Rank", which looks at a variety of metrics from everyone's user profile) and their past performance in the WISC ("Tourney Rank", where more recent tournaments get more weight) to not necessarily predict performance in the tourney but just to act as a good framework to do these seedings. It's imperfect of course, but generally does a good job.

I talked with schwarze and redcped, and we thought it'd be fun to bring the system back but just for fun this year. Unlike before, these had no impact on how leagues are assigned (I set this up last night and league numbers were assigned weeks ago).

It looks like the 6218 was mensu1954's total playoff wins

Fixed. Thankfully just a data issue with that particular datapoint rather than something larger.

Says here I was champ inn 2010. Hard to believe that was 15 years ago. Does that make me an elder statesman? or competitor emeritus?

I thinik ronthegenius is has the longest number of years since his Championship (2005).

Interestingly, everyone who responded to the poll (above) that they should have been ranked better ended up underperforming their Pre-Rank. And almost everyone who responded saying that should have been ranked worse ended up OVERperforming their Pre-Rank. Ironic!
