League Rules

16 Team League - 4/4 Format

We will use all of the seasons from 1970 to 2020, with future seasons being added as they become available. Seasons before 1970 are eligible to use if the player played in 1970. (Example: If Cincinnati is drawn as a Franchise and you draft Pete Rose you'd start him with his 1st Reds season, 1963).

Roster construction and Player Eligibility:
All the Players that played for the Franchise/s drawn are eligible. It doesn't matter at what point of their career they played for them. They will start with the first season they played for that Franchise. So if the Braves are drawn, a player like Greg Maddux could be drafted for Season 1. He'd start with his first season with the Braves 1993, skipping his Cubs seasons since the Cubs weren't drawn. Maddux would then progress from 1993 to 1994 and so on until he reaches the end of his Braves seasons. Then he must be Cut. In the total scheme of eligibility, each player is a completely different player for each Franchise they played for. Example:Maddux has 4 different versions since he played for 4 different Franchises, the Cubs, Braves, Dodgers and Padres. Each one of those 4 Franchises would have to be drawn for that version of him to be eligible to use.

Free Agency:
Each season 3 players from each roster will be randomly chosen to become Free Agents. They will be included in the draft for the upcoming season and if you draft them they will progress from the season they just finished using. You can draft your own Free Agents back onto your team if they are still available when you pick. If they are not drafted they will be removed from the league. If a player is drawn to become a Free Agent and does not have any seasons remaining of the Franchise he is currently playing for, then he will be a Cut. You can use your 1st round pick in exchange to reclaim 1 of your 3 Free Agents. You must claim him back before the draft starts, and there will be a 24 hour period after the draft order is known to finalize your decision before the draft begins.

Subsequent Drafts:
After Season 1, I will do a random draw each and every season to determine the one new Franchise we will add players from. We won't use any previously drawn Franchises a 2nd time until all other Franchises have been used once. Draft order will be random amongst the teams not making the playoffs and the 4 playoff teams will draft 13-16th based on W/L record. I will draw the new Franchise for the next season before Keepers/Cuts are due. For the Draft, I will only list the Free Agents in a player pool. There won't be a pool listed for players from the newly drawn Franchise. They will only be blacklisted as they are chosen so it will be each owners responsibility to look up which players can be drafted in the Draft Center.

Keepers/Cuts:
There is no limit to Keepers or Cuts and they are due by the end of the season. Once a player reaches the last season they played for a Franchise, they must be Cut. If a player played for more then 1 Franchise and his next Franchise in progression is drawn to use, he still must be Cut as that version of him is considered a new player. If a player played for the same Franchise more than once, meaning they played for a different Franchise in-between stints for the same Franchise, you can jump ahead and use those seasons also. Example:Rickey Henderson played with Oakland three times, playing for the Yankees and Blue Jays in-between his seasons with the A's. If Oakland is being used, you would start with his 1979 Oakland season and after 1984, (his last A's season the 1st time) you can jump ahead to his 1989 Oakland season, (his 1st season the 2nd time he played for them), and continue on from there.

Multiple Versions:
You can use the partial or combined version of a player as long as the version you choose is from the correct Franchise.

Trades:
Must pass the usual 6 vetos during the season. Off-season Trades are allowed without veto process unless 1 owner not involved in the trade opposes. The trade in question will then be voted on and 6 "No" votes will cancel it. You can Trade Draft Picks up to 1 year ahead.

AAA:
2 Below Average fictitious for trade balancing only.

IR/DL:
There is no IR/DL, Players just advance to the next available season.

Clones:
Are allowed. Since each version of a player from a different Franchise is considered a completely different player we will allow Clones.

BallParks:
Any, can change at any time.

No Salary Cap
DH in the AL only
Injuries Off
Alignment will be the same each season

Red = Free Agents
7/10/2025 7:37 AM
We are finishing up Season 22 and need 1 owner to take over the Team listed above for Season 23.
The 3 players in Red were drawn to be Free Agents.

The Franchise we will be drafting from to add players to our rosters for next season will be the Braves.

This is how the Team looks for next season.
A solid 4 starters for the rotation.
You can Cut anyone, and with the Braves Franchise being drawn for new players, plus some solid Free Agents from other teams to draft from, it has some good pieces to build with.
