recruit Attributes vs potential Topic

Is it better to recruit a player with high or VH potential and lower attributes, OR a player who has low or very low potential but has high attributes?
What numbers do you use as a benchmark to make that decision either way?

I was thinking that if they have high attributes the potential doesnt matter because some players will not reach that high no matter what their potential.

Your question is the basis of the game. Figuring out the specific details you are asking about right now are instrumental in success/long term success. This isn't a question that can or should be answered because there are too many variables. But I will tell you that player growth is incredibly consistent. You can easily figure this out for yourself but you still need to decide what ratings matter to you.

yes this isn't a question that is easily answered. i would say growth is the most important thing for most players, but studs are studs. at least at d1 and 1aa there are usually 15-20 or so guys a year that don't need to grow a single point and still be great forever. if you're on the fence though go with growth. when i say growth thats gpa, we, and potential. we is the most important of those three, but one of these attributes without at least one of the other 2 will leave you wanting.

Mgambi, this video may help answer some of your questions about potential and attributes. It's primary a depiction of how potential and work ethic interact but again, it may be helpful.
