Random Roster – Random Birthdays

We have reached the halfway mark in the 24 Rules League and it’s time to start another Random Roster. One of the rules gave me an idea. So, here’s what I did and what you need to do…

What I did:

I listed all days of the year (365, no leap year) and gave each a random number (1-365). Next, I selected 20 randomized dates for each of the first 12 teams. I did the same once again for the 2nd group of 12 teams. I then went back to each team and randomized the dates from January to December to make things easier for drafting.

What you need to do:

First of all, pick a number(s) from 1 to 24. That will give you the 20 randomized dates. Use the following link: https://www.hockey-reference.com/friv/birthdays.cgi?month=1&day=1 to draft a player from each of the dates you received. Obviously you will need to draft 23 players to complete your team, so each date will yield 1 player and the majority will yield 2 players. No date may yield more than 2 players.

It’s a tricky draft but definitely doable. When you have drafted your 23 players, please sitemail me your team in the following format:

Jan 1st – Jeff Carter & Gerry Hart
Jan 2nd – Brian Boucher
Etc…

Salary cap - $125 million
No injuries, shootouts, trades, ML’ers, waiver wire, and as usual no Mario or Wayne.
