1 1982 Prog Team - CLAIMED Topic

As you're browsing the WIS classifieds today...please consider taking the available 1982 team in the All Time Progressive (ATP) League

The ATP is about to begin its 97th season of play! ....

THE LEAGUE IS THE OLDEST SINGLE SEASON LEAGUE IN WIS THAT STARTED PLAY WITH THE 1885 SEASON

The available team's roster is listed below....it is a Los Angeles team that plays at Dodger Stadium

check the entire lineup of potential keepers below.....

Rules

* During the offseason, we will hold a draft for players who are new to the WIS database that year and non-keepers from previous seasons
* Draft order for Rounds One and Two is based on the team's "draft score" as determined by the following formula: Team Salary at Game 81 in millions to the tenth multiplied by two plus Team Keeper Salary in millions to the tenth posted by Game 135 minus total number of wins at Game 162. The low draft score picks first with low to high following for the first two rounds. ** Any Game 81 team salary or Keeper salary below $50 million is entered into the formula as $50 million

All of this results in winning improving your draft slot instead of losing...as a result...no matter where your team is in the standings...even up to Game 162...every game potentially matters when it comes to your draft slot
* The Draft order for all rounds following Round 2 is determined by the standings at Game 162 (final standings) with worst to first being the order of picks
* The Keeper Lists should be in within 9 days after the 120 game mark (Game 145). After that, you cannot change your list.
* No AAA
* No WW
* Trades are encouraged, but no NL/AL trading of players that have a duplicate...otherwise AL/NL trading is allowed
* The league will start using the DH in the NL and AL in our 1978 season
* Draft picks can be traded, but with a maximum of 1 seasons ahead. For example, if you make a mid-season trade in 1890, you can only trade your 1891 picks. During the 1891 draft, you can only trade draft picks for 1891.
* You may trade players after Game 120 but you cannot trade the player's salary for the following season. That salary counts as part of your keeper salary since the player remains on your team until the end of the season.
NEW POST-1961 SEASON RULES

Since the initial 1885 season (how can we be THAT old) of the ATP, a split league format served the league
well with separate drafts for each league…but, as many of you know, we will get to expansion in the 1960’s and go from drafting 10 teams from the rosters of 16 teams to drafting 10 teams from the rosters of 20 teams – starting in 1962…from my experience, such a condition will lead to nearly every team being an “all star” team

To avoid this, starting with the 1962 draft in the ATP – once MLB goes to 20 teams – we converted the ATP to having one draft – both leagues – NL and AL – will draft from one/the same draft pool – as is usually the case in most progressive leagues

At this point....the 1982 season....there are VERY few duplicate players remaining...just ones who started the major league career as far back as 1961 or longer ago

* There will be an injured reserve with players on I/R not counting toward the total number of keepers
* Franchises are allowed to change stadiums, but this can only happen twice every 50 seasons at maximum. Also, you cannot change twice within a 10 year span.

The 1981 season just passed game 120, so LA's draft position won't be known for another 2 weeks. It all depends on (a) their final record (b) the total 1982 salaries of the players you list as keepers. The draft position could vary widely based on those 2 variables.

I have been running the team this season - they're a sold club with a good roster to build on, especially in 1982-83.
