Munson Season 68 - Has filled! Thank you Topic

Munson World has just finished its latest World Series and has rolled into its new season. We are an established world with a mix of long time veterans and newer owners. We have recently re-written our by-laws to better reflect the wants of the current owners. We have also had discussion about whether adopt the universal DH. Since we were fairly split, we have decided to keep the DH in the AL, while using traditional rules in the NL. We have 4 3 2 1 opening for the next season. AMERICAN LEAGUE OPTIONS FOR MUNSON SEASON 68:

**TAKEN**

AL North Franchise (formerly Tacoma): Tacoma had a fairly long time owner who has been in the playoff mix recently. However, due to lack of time, the owner gave up the franchise and it sunk to a 68-94 record this season and last in the division. They were 10th in runs scored and 15th in batting average. They were also last in both fielding percentage and team ERA. However, there is talent there. They are only 2 seasons removed from 97 win campaign. They have only 4 players under contract for the upcoming season at a mere 22.5 million dollars. And a whopping 13 players headed to arbitration hearings. In addition, they will add the #10 draft pick to their minor league system.

**TAKEN**

AL South Franchise (formerly Atlanta): Atlanta has been middle of the pack recently, hovering around .500 in past seasons. However, this season, they slumped to 66-96 and finished 3rd in the division. They were 14th in the league in batting average, but did manage to turn that into 9th in runs scored. Their pitching and defense did not help things, as they were ranked 13th in both categories. They do have a core of 8 players signed to contracts worth 52 million for next season. And another 12 players going to arbitration. So, the opportunity to mold the team is there. They will receive the #8 pick in the amateur draft.

NATIONAL LEAGUE OPTIONS FOR SEASON 68

**TAKEN**

NL South Franchise (formerly Durham): Durham has lost 100 games or more for the past 4 seasons and was subject to our minimum wins rule this season. They finished 34-128, though their minor league teams seem to be in decent shape with solid records. Obviously, Durham finished low in most major team categories. They were 13th in runs scored, but finished last in batting average, pitching ERA and fielding percentage. They currently have 10 players signed for 63 million dollars next season and 8 more heading to arbitration. They will also have the TOP pick (#1) in the draft next season.

**TAKEN**

NL West Franchise (formerly Omaha): Omaha was also subject to the league’s minimum wins rule, as they only managed 51 wins against 111 losses. They have gone from a .500 team just 4 seasons ago to a 90-100 loss team recently. They could use a good rebuild. They finished 15th in runs scored and team pitching ERA. They were also 14th in batting average and 13th in fielding percentage. They have 7 players signed for a modest 38 million dollars and then 11 more players who are arbitration eligible. They have also secured the #2 pick in the upcoming amateur draft.
